The Immune Helper Cell

TH2 is a type of T helper immune cell. TH2 cells activate certain immune responses to threats, and that’s a good thing. But sometimes these TH2 cells respond to harmless things in your environment, affecting airflow in your nasal passages as well as eye and nose comfort. So to stay comfortable, you need to promote a healthy immune response to the world around you.

There are several types of T helper immune cells. In this case, TH2 is the important one. TH2 is called a helper cell because it activates other immune responses to threats, and that’s a good thing. But sometimes these TH2 cells respond to harmless things in your environment.

EpiCor® S. cerevisiae (from Brewer’s Yeast)

EpiCor® is an extract of S. cerevisiae, or brewer’s yeast. In one study, subjects took either 500 mg of EpiCor® a day or a placebo for five weeks. Subjects in the EpiCor® group who normally experienced an immune response to changes in their environment reported none of those same effects while taking EpiCor®.In another study, EpiCor® contributed to a significant improvement in the number of days with comfortable nasal airflow.

L. acidophilus L-92®

Immunoglobulin E (or IgE for short) is an immune system molecule that can be used to evaluate immune response. In one pre-clinical study, Lactobacillus acidophilus L-92® demonstrated superior effects on IgE response compared with seven other probiotic strains.

This is good news for those who experience an immune response to their environment. Studies show that L-92® promotes a healthy inflammatory response in the nasal passages (which supports healthy air flow), as well as eye and nose comfort.
